jit.avc External FireWire VTR control
The jit.avc object communicates with FireWire VTR devices, such as digital cameras and DV decks, using the 1394 AV/C protocol. Use it to control the transport of these devices from Max.

jit.qt.videoout External Output video to QuickTime video output component
The jit.qt.videoout object takes a matrix as input, compresses the data and sends it directly to a video output component (VOC), such as that supported by DV cameras (via the FireWire VOC) or a special video card (such as the Matrox RT).

v.presence External v.presence is used predominant to detect presence.
v.presence is used predominant to detect presence. It maintains a slowly adapting internal image that moves at a specified rate toward the pixel values in the input stream. The long exposure provides a reference image against which to compare the current frame. The difference usually represents a new presence in front of the camera. The rate at which the reference image adapts to the current incoming image is defined by a value between 0 and 1. At 0, the reference image is exactly the same as the live image. At 1, the reference image is frozen. Values between 0.99 and 0.9975 are most useful
v.track External v.track follows a specified small object across the video field with sub-pixel accuracy and no delay.
v.track follows a specified small object across the video field with sub-pixel accuracy and no delay. Objects are tracked best against a contrasting solid background, and will be lost if they travel faster than 8 pixels per frame. You can also tell v.track to track an unmoving part of the screen, and move the camera (instant steadicam) (Again, if the camera moves such that the image moves more than 8 pixel per frame, you will lose tracking.) If you supply a profile stream (i.e. from v.silhouette’s second outlet), v.track uses the silhouette to define a mask that will cause areas showing no silhouette presence to be ignored in the tracking process, which improves tracking across complicated backgrounds. v.track is best understood by looking at the v.track examples, because it works best when supplied with properly pre-processed streams.

EAMIR - the Electro-acoustic Musically Interactive Room

Manzo The EAMIR project is an open-source effort to enable educators with technology for music education. Software is designed around a common configuration which can be easily implemented by music educators around the world by downloading source code and standalone applications through eamir.org.

Users who understand programming can edit the source code and post their new source and standalone applications back to the site for the EAMIR community to use.

Much of the EAMIR software is also designed to allow students with physical and mental disabilities to create meaningful music using interfaces that are accessible to their needs.
